The Marlboro Mixer is a community newsletter sent to all Marlboro, Vermont households bi-monthly. You can choose to receive the Mixer as a paper copy through the mail (see costs below) or as a PDF sent to an email address. Mixer issues can also be viewed on-line below.

The Marlboro Mixer is supported mostly through town taxes and is intended to reach all residents of Marlboro. If you are not receiving the Mixer and you wish to receive a paper copy in the US postal mail, please email the editor at: meg@megmccarthy.com

Financial Information about the Mixer

It costs the Alliance approximately $3700 to publish the bi-monthly Mixer each year. The Alliance requests $3000 from the town to help offset this cost.

The expenses each year are approximately:

$1,500 - Editor Stipend - This breaks down to about $250 per issue with 6 issues per year. Each issue takes approximately 10 hours of time to put together, edit, manage with the printer and get mailed.

$1,200 - Printing - Each Issue has many pages and the printer is giving us a non-profit rate. If we increase the number of pages or publish more frequently this printing cost will increase. If people elect to receive the mixer in email this cost decreases. We ask that people who receive the Mixer as paper in the mail donate $15 each year to help offset this cost.

$1,000 - Postage - If we increase the number of pages or publish more frequently this printing cost will increase. If people elect to receive the mixer in email this cost decreases. We ask that people who receive the Mixer as paper in the mail donate $15 each year to help offset this cost.
